The “2017 International Summit Forum on Translational Neurology” was held successfully from July 21-23 in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, China. Basic researchers and clinical experts from both China and abroad were invited to attend, along with representatives of research institutions and businesses, while NN editorial team members in attendance were Rui-Rui Zhang and A-Ni Yuan. There was a presentation about the aims of the conference, namely to provide a forum for those working in the field of clinical neurology, facilitate continuing education and training for clinicians, foster exchange of information about new technologies for clinical diagnosis and treatment, and promote clinical translation of medical research through these in-depth academic exchanges.
On July 22, our team members listened carefully to lectures from experts from all over the world, and learnt about the dynamic state of and latest achievements in research into cerebral ischemia, cerebral hemorrhage, neurological rehabilitation, neurodegenerative disease, nerve involvement, and transformation of treatments for vertigo. Our team also spent time in discussion with the experts after the meeting.
Our team was honored to listen to a lecture entitled: “Bench to bedside translational medicine: steps” by the Honorary Conference President, President (2014-2016) of the International Society for Neuroimmunology, Academician of Canada’s Royal Academy of Sciences, and the Canada Research Chair in Neuroimmunology, Professor V. Wee Yong. The managing editor of NN journal, Rui-Rui Zhang, introduced basic information about the journal including our policies on open access, peer review, Editorial Board Members (EBMs), published articles, and database indexing etc. After careful consideration, Prof. Yong accepted our sincere invitation, in the name of our Editor-in-Chief, Professor Gang Zhao, and was willing to join us as Honorary Editor-in-Chief.
